14/2/2009 Environmental activity with Philadelphia school students
As part of the environment awareness campaign we have held in many schools and universities, and in cooperation with Wadi Al Sir area Municipality, an interactive environmental day was held at the Philadelphia school to raise awareness on many environmental facts as well as instill the values of belonging and responsibility of students towards their environment and their city. This day included a dialogue that was moderated by the Wadi Al Sir area manager, as he provided the students with some environmental facts concerning their city, and ran a discussion with the students about their role is preserving and protecting their environment. Following this session, Tatawor association conducted a quiz competition where students were divided into groups and questions about the environment were asked. This day was concluded with a small plant given to each student to grow and take care of, while keeping a daily journal of the progress of their plant, hence instill some feelings of responsibility towards their environment. The students will meet with us again with a different environmental activity where they will bring along their plants to show them off.
